SolUnesco joins MDV-SEIA as a sponsor for the 10th annual Solar Focus Conference. MDV-SEIA is proud to partner on this event with SolUnesco, an active national and regional solar stakeholder in the Mid-Atlantic.
SolUnesco is a start-up project developer operating in the utility-scale and community solar markets. SolUnesco was founded by Jon Hillis and Francis Hodsoll in 2015 on four decades of experience in energy project development, commercial construction, utility plant management and corporate leadership. SolUnesco has built a Virginia project pipeline of greater than 700 MW. They have also provided leadership for solar policy and legislative efforts in the Mid-Atlantic for the last 5 years. Collectively, Jon and Francis represent clean energy on the MDV-SEIA Board of Directors, Chair of the Energy Workgroup for Governor McAuliffe’s Climate Change and Resiliency Update Commission and Committee member of Governor McAuliffe’s Energy Committee.
Currently, there is tremendous growth projected for the Virginia and southeast markets. SolUnesco believes that project developers such as themselves are in an ideal position to support the growth in utility-scale solar. “As solar in Virginia continues to grow, we look forward to supporting this market expansion,” says CEO Francis Hodsoll. SolUnesco also looks to be at the forefront of decarbonizing the current energy system in Virginia through developing large-scale renewable energy projects.
This year SolUnesco is hiring four employees as compared to their start-up in 2015 with zero W-2 employees. SolUnesco is one of the employers participating in the first annual Solar Job Fair hosted by MDV-SEIA and GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic. SolUnesco has been and continues to invest heavily in tools to deliver excellence in execution at the lowest cost. For more information visit their website at www.solunesco.com
