WGL Energy delivers a full spectrum of energy offerings, including electricity, natural gas, renewable energy, carbon reduction, distributed generation and energy efficiency solutions provided by WGL Energy Services, Inc. and WGL Energy Systems, Inc.
WGL Energy currently has over 200 MW of solar under contract across 19 states including five states on the East Coast. WGL Energy’s business in renewable energy observed significant growth over the last few years. WGL Energy explains the biggest changes they have made to the company are “adding new markets and new talent to the team and expanding our brand and focus to a cohesive approach, offering a full spectrum of energy solutions to our client base”.
WGL Energy, an umbrella for WGL Energy Services, a supplier of retail electricity, and WGL Energy Systems, have made innovative contributions to solar due to its’ unique position to provide both services. Because of this position, WGL Energy has been able to take full advantage of programs available in attractive solar states, while also formulating solutions in states, markets or sectors where these programs are not available.
Beyond the growth in off-site renewable energy, WGL Energy is continuing to monitor the use of PACE financing for solar and of course the integration of storage with solar. WGL Energy currently has a pilot project in partnership with Georgia Power to test solar and storage. WGL Energy, as a supplier, integrator and investor, will explore the viability of these projects and continue to play a role in this growth sector as opportunities become available.
